So. Stupid.

This is my town's library as of this morning:



It's the only public resource in the entire town, and contains the local Heritage Centre (y'can't call it a museum when it's mostly an alcove).

I just... cannot fathom why you would ever do something like this. What is the point? What is the sharding point?

So stupid. It's so, so stupid.

Look to the skies

Right now, Venus and Mars are hanging out together in the night sky; Venus in particular is gloriously bright at dusk (I can see it while the sky's still blue), and Mars pops in when it gets dark. They're in the general vicinity of the moon right now, making it even easier to find them.

But... all I can think whenever I see them is: "Ooh! If I was randomly dropped somewhere on the Earth's surface, I bet I could use them to figure out my approximate latitude!"

I may be very sad.

(Have remembered what to do with journals: stuff them full of whatever springs to mind. Not for me the long detailed posts about my life - no, I shall flood the datastreams with fluff!)
