Another year older - 34 now, the crazy calendar says. Spent the morning being showered with presents by Arianna and the kids (my daughter likes making gifts), so that was lovely. :)
Last night, in the fever of near-sleep, I wound up thinking about all the friends I've drifted away from over the years, and felt I'd like to raise a glass to them.
So here's to the Five - Alison, Jenn, Bjam, I still smile when you pop back up on LJ or Facebook. And here's to Mari and Starwind who came after, and Vemi who went before.
Here's to the YSA - Lauren, Charlotte, Grace, Steve, and the others who came and went around us.
Here's to Thursday Drama Group in all its incarnations. Caroline, you still hold the title of oldest friend I'm still in touch with, however tenuously; the other names have faded somewhat, but they're still up there somewhere.
Here's to the Losers, the shifting population of the LCR. I don't know how many of you actually saw me as a friend, but you were mine.
And back, and back (Liliac, here's one for you), all the way to primary school: to Lizzie Dean and Thomas Goodyear, Ryan Saunders and Matthew Travis, and others going back before my memories take off.
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But - because I knew you
I have been changed for good.
