My father took me out late in the evening, the only sound the rustling of leaves in the breeze. He laid his arm about my shoulders, and pointed up at the silver glowing moon. "We went there, once."

The grey surface floats up to meet me. I feel the ship’s feet touch the ground, the shaking of the engines fade away. A bulb burns steady on my board. "Contact light."

My voice feels thick in my throat, and I have to cough to clear it before I can finish my report:
