Hey, if
neshomeh can take up valuable journal space talking about her dreams, so can I. Only, uh, about my dreams, not hers (because that would be weird).
I'll take a stab at annotating anything which pops out, but mostly this is just fairly literal stream of consciousness.
I remember taking a long journey - specifically, we had to go an hour and a half north-west from London[1] - to get to a rural location. We went in through a house, a proper old mansion (wood panelling and the like), that was serving as a gatehouse, then had to walk down a country lane to get... somewhere. Only we realised halfway that we'd forgotten something, and would need to turn round and go allll the way home. I think there may also have been evil robots?
[1] Which takes me to the general vicinity of my grandparents' house, which is in the middle of being sold off right now.
With seemingly no connection to the previous section, I was part of the crew of the Enterprise (the original, I think)[2]. We flew into an underground cavern which was populated by... giants! Which tried to grab the ship.[3] Only in some way the giants were also the Egyptian-themed aliens from the Stargate film. I had a conversation with... someone... which went something like this:
Them: "You've watched this - did you know they were aliens?"
Me: "Well, I knew they were Egyptians..."
The problem was that we were in the TV series, not the film, so it was different.[4]
We did manage to fly out safely, and got a lovely view of the planet down below.
[2] I currently have Star Trek Timelines on my phone, and tend to play it right before bed.
[3]
celebestel made a comment during the evening which reminded me of the giants in The Silver Chair.
[4] Well, Netflix. They like making films into TV shows. I ran into the fact that they made a series out of Frequency, which is probably what sparked this.

Date: 2017-01-11 05:17 pm (UTC)From:If this one is any indication, your dreams seem to have a much more tangible connection to actual events in your life than mine usually do. Even when I can identify where a particular thing came from, it's often in a much different form, like the time I'd been playing with doll-makers all day and then dreamed about one, only it was TMNT instead of anything I'd actually seen. And then the Turtles actually showed up, and there was a whole lot of confusion about getting them back where they belonged. IDEK.
You got to be on the Enterprise! That's sweet!
I love how things can just sort of be there without really meaning anything, even if they are evil robots.

Date: 2017-01-12 09:15 am (UTC)From:I think my dreams often do connect to stuff that happened that day, but it can be very hard to pin down, because it's often very minor things. 'I noticed the existence of the Frequency TV show' doesn't point very clearly to 'we're in Stargate but the series is different to the film'. I've never even seen the Stargate shows. And of course there's whole heaps of stuff that doesn't go back to anything, like the country manor with evil robots out the back.
Basically: dreams is weird.
